Manufactured by hand

How are the ALVEN linen made?

At ALVEN we want to offer not only the best bed linen in Switzerland, but also with a clear conscience about production and environmental protection. For our bed linen to travel as few kilometres as possible from manufacturing to our customers, we chose the places of it's origins wisely. In fact, our fabrics are woven only 90km from the site where they are cut and sewn into our amazing bed linen. From northern Italy it is also not far to our warehouse at the lake of Zurich.

Many work steps are necessary for the finished product.

Months before the production we designed and produced the special ALVEN textile labels. Each fabric is treated differently, which is why different labels are used for our linen line (coming soon) than for the cotton collection.

By the way, in all our duvet covers we sew loops. Why this is so and what you can use these practical helpers for, we explain in a separate blog post.

Finally, the parts are ironed, folded, stabilized with a cardboard box and packed in plastic sleeves. Before they are sent to our warehouse in Switzerland, all packages receive a GTIN barcode - this ensures that from production to sale we always know which size of which batch we are holding in our hands.
